For more than two decades, Time Warp has pretty much set the gold standard for techno raves. On top of the jaw-dropping stage production, crystal clear sound and precise organisation, the Mannheim event draws the biggest names in techno, year in, year out.
In fact it’s basically one, big, happy techno DJ family, with acts like Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, and Ricardo Villalobos playing almost every year since the beginning.
And since at least 2013, that list has also included Italy’s Joseph Capriati, who has become one of the most popular techno DJs on the planet in that time.
Along with regular Time Warp appearances, Capriati has long been an Ibiza favourite, where his Club Room marathon sets at Marco Carola’s Music On earned him global praise and a rabid fanbase. More recently, he’s been a fixture at Jamie Jones’ Paradise at DC-10, while managing a blitzkrieg tour schedule with regular stops at the biggest festivals in the world.
That’s to say he’s a man who knows how to handle the main stage. Which he does so with aplomb over the two hour recording live from Time Warp 2017 he’s generously so shared.
